Hi, I am Sharlene and I have over 25 years of experience in private practice physiotherapy. After graduating from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science (Physio) I worked for short time in Perth before heading off to the USA for 6 years. I was fortunate enough to gain experience working in a variety of different settings in different states while travelling, camping and mountain biking in the beautiful National Parks of the USA.
I then returned to Perth to complete my Master of Sports Physiotherapy. This is when I was introduced to Physio-based Pilates where strength and movement are the focus and for over 15 years now, I have utilised this fabulous tool to teach my clients how to move with quality and efficiency.
I feel that I have found my niche in Sports Physiotherapy and Physio-based exercise. It gives me a real buzz to empower people with all sorts of conditions, ages, differing abilities and mobility levels to achieve movement efficiency, strength and optimum function, whether they are elite sports people, pregnant, pre and postnatal, kids or the elderly. I have also gained invaluable experience working at the Olympic Village at the Athens Olympics in 2004.
I have completed Clinical Pilates training with Dance Medicine Australia and in the Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Method and am in the process of completing Polestar Pilates’ Certificate IV in Matwork Instruction.
I have one beautiful daughter that keeps my husband and I very active. I am a member of the City of Perth SLSC and am a keen surf ski paddler. I also enjoy keeping fit with swimming, walking my dog, paddling my SUP and of course regular doing physio strength and movement sessions.
