Physiotherapy Exercise

Physiotherapy exercise classes at Stellar Physio utilise many aspects of the Pilates Method but it is done within the scope of evidence-based practice and a clinical diagnosis.

You are only as strong as your weakest link.

Our physiotherapists focus on balancing the muscle groups of the body by combining strength training, flexibility, posture and spinal mobility.  This improves functional strength by increasing the endurance of the stabilising muscles so that fatigue is reduced and hence risk of injury is minimised. These benefits are extensively documented in the literature.   It is suitable for the everyday person and the elite athlete.

Physio Exercise is used to treat and rehabilitate the following:

  • Sporting injuries
  • Back & neck pain
  • Poor posture
  • Arthritic pain
  • Pre and post-surgery
  • Pre and post-pregnancy

At Stellar Physio we have a brand new Exercise Studio equipped with:

  • Airdyne bike
  • Kettlebells
  • Free weights
  • a studio reformer
  • a trapeze table
  • a combo chair
  • all necessary mobility equipment including, fitballs, discs, sliders, theraband, Backblocks and rollers.

Whilst Physio exercise is extremely versatile and suitable for all fitness levels it must be individually tailored to your specific needs. All patients of Stellar Physio will undertake a 3-step process with the physiotherapist to ensure maximum results from a Physio exercise program:

  1. An initial assessment (1 hour)
  2. A number of 1 on 1 private studio sessions, depending on prior exercise experience
  3. Entry into a 1-hour studio physio exercise class, maximum of 3 participants

OR

  1. Continue with private 1 on 1 sessions if desired.
